Illuminex Signs Exclusive Marketing and Distribution Deal
Eruma plc, the AIM traded specialist provider of counter terrorism and burglary protection products and emergency lighting, has announced that its wholly owned subsidiary Illuminex Ltd, has entered into an exclusive marketing, sales and distribution agreement with ECO-ESD, a UK based Company. ECO-ESD specialise in the supply of their Ecologic range of energy saving controls for fluorescent lamps. This agreement is valid for the duration of 20 years and covers the exclusive distribution of Ecologic products in the UK, Europe, Africa and Australasia.
ECO-ESD currently holds distribution rights for the Ecologic range which have been patented by its associate Advanced Environmental Technologies Limited (‘AET’), a New Zealand based firm which concentrates on developing new energy efficient technologies to benefit businesses and communities which not only yield environmental benefits but also offer attractive cost saving initiatives.
It is the Company’s intention to work closely with ECO-ESD and AET to amalgamate the Ecologic range with its own Illuminex products to create an energy saving offering that combines the energy efficiency of Ecologic and the controllability of the Illuminex intelligent emergency lighting systems.
Illuminex Managing Director Kevin Coffey said, “Compared to other market leading product ranges, the Ecologic range offers savings of 20%-50% in energy costs. We believe that the addition of the Ecologic products to our existing Illuminex range presents us with a huge opportunity to capitalise on a growing market demand for greater efficiency and cost effectiveness in lighting systems. Rising energy prices coupled with a greater awareness of environmental issues means that products such as these will become increasingly relevant to companies looking to reduce the impact of electricity bills on their balance sheets as well as their carbon footprint on the planet.”
The new Ecologic range consists of a series of energy efficient fluorescent lamp control ballasts – devices which regulate the level of electrical current supplied to a circuit. When fitted to a conventional fluorescent lighting system, the Ecologic products use less energy than standard magnetic ballasts resulting in a significant reduction in costs and associated carbon emissions.
The products in the range outperform comparative products from other leading manufacturers and can be retrofitted into existing systems, allowing potential clients to reduce energy consumption without taking on the cost of replacing an entire lighting system.
Under the terms of the agreement, Eruma has agreed to issue 1,000,000 warrants to subscribe for ordinary shares in the Company to ECO-ESD for the exclusive distribution rights in the UK, Europe, Africa and Australasia for the Ecologic product range. These warrants will be exercisable at 5p.
